This writing journey has been filled with ups and downs along the way and today is definitely an UP day! I just found out SOAR won Honorable Mention in the Children’s Picture Book 6 & Older category from Purple Dragonfly Book Awards!
I am so honored to receive this award and after several rejections from book agents, it feels so amazing to have my hard work and Angie’s illustrations acknowledged. I am fortunate to have found such an amazing illustrator to create such a beautiful world for my words. I am also very thankful to have found such a supportive publisher in Schiffer Kids.
This journey has taught me so much, but most importantly, it has taught me to believe in myself and go after my dreams. I cannot stress enough to those pursuing a dream to dig deep on those down days because the reward is amazing. Best of luck in whatever it is you are pursuing.
